The Internet has become a worldwide marketplace where virtually everything is peddled online ranging from books, movie tickets, and kitchen gadgets to automobiles, luxury cruises, and fine art. No matter what you're in the market for, you'll find it online. When it comes to browsing online art galleries, you're likely to come across examples of both fine art and digital art. But what's the difference? And is digital art real art?

To better understand the differences between fine and digital art, let's first define fine art. According to Merriam Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, Eleventh Edition, fine art is defined as: Art (as painting, sculpture, or music) concerned primarily with the creation of beautiful objects.

Now, let's define digital art. The Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia explains that digital art is a contemporary art form where computer technology is manipulated to create distinctive works.

With those definitions in mind, a beautiful oil painting is considered fine art while a breathtaking collage of electronic images would be considered digital art. While you may be able to reach out and touch the brushstrokes on a painting or feel the contours of a sculpture, digital art tends to be less tangible, often appearing on a computer monitor or video display. Thus, the question often arises as to its legitimacy as a real art form.

Digital art also suffers from a perception that, because the artwork is created on a computer, it has less value than a one-of-a-kind object of fine art. Photographers encountered these same perceptions as a single photographic negative or slide is capable of creating countless identical copies of the image. While a digital artist could theoretically mass produce digital art, many digital artists have adopted the same techniques that photographers and lithographers have used successfully: limited editions.

The way that viewers interact with fine art and digital art is different as well. For the most part, looking at fine art is a static experience. Sure, the piece may evoke strong emotions as you look at it, but the experience is primarily visual. Digital art often incorporates multiple images, transitions, audio, and video; the artwork may change based on the viewer's actions or movements, especially if touch screens or integrated video cameras are involved.

While fine art is displayed on walls, book shelves, pedestals, and other areas where you can enjoy it, digital art often requires electronic displays. Static digital artwork can be printed on paper or canvas and hung like traditional fine art paintings while multimedia artwork needs a suitable display such as a computer. Digital picture frames and flat panel TV's with suitable inputs open digital artwork display possibilities that didn't exist just a few years ago.

Clearly, fine art and digital art have their differences. But is digital art real art? To answer that question, ask the following questions when looking at a piece of digital art: Is it beautiful? Does it evoke emotions? If you answer yes to either of these questions, the digital art is indeed real art.

The Importance of Frames in Art

You’ve selected a gorgeous oil painting, print, photograph, or poster. Now what? Equally important is selecting the frame. Art frames serve several purposes ranging from practical and aesthetic to conceptual.

Art Frames: Practical Applications
Frames are used to provide structure, protect, and display the artwork. Frames may or may not have glass and matting, but most do have molding, backing, and mounting hardware. Adding a frame to a piece of artwork adds structure to the piece while also making it easier to mount the artwork on walls thanks to the inclusion of mounting hardware. While glass and Plexiglas are most often used on photographs and posters, glazing materials that block harmful UV rays are becoming increasingly popular for paintings and prints to protect artwork from fading and deterioration.

Art Frames: Aesthetic Considerations
In addition to the practical applications of frames, frames are also important for aesthetic reasons. An unframed painting may look bare or unfinished while a framed piece of art will look complete. However, the frame should suit the artwork; it should become a part of the piece, not compete with it. For example, a fancy gilt frame may be stunning on its own or when paired with a formal portrait, but this same frame may be the wrong choice for a contemporary painting.

Art frames are made from a variety of materials with countless finishing possibilities. When considering the aesthetics, consider the artwork’s subject and style as well as the location where the artwork will be displayed. For instance, consider framing a painting of an old barn with a distressed and weathered wooden frame. If this same painting will be displayed alongside similar pieces, consider coordinating the frames of all of the pieces in the collection for a cohesive look.

Art Frames: Defining Art’s Boundaries
Frames are important in art for another reason: Frames define art’s boundaries. Frames provide a boundary, either physical or conceptual, that separate art from reality. Artists often frame their artwork deliberately, making the frame as much a part of the art as the canvas itself. Physical and conceptual boundaries also make viewers think. For example, what the artist or photographer chooses to show is often only part of the story. As a viewer looks at a carefully framed image, one has to think, “What am I not seeing?”

All of us are creative in one way or another and like to enjoy the concept and splendor of art in some form. Whether the vision we behold is scenic natural beauty or a superb outfit, everything around us is art. Each man-made or God created instance of art has some meaning behind it and the same can be said about this impeccable A Remote Beach painting.

Flowing Clouds, interesting weather, the mysterious sea and green trees are all complementing each other in nature’s perfect way. It seems the intended magical moment of paint on canvas has been perfectly captured. This painting reminds me of the wonderful time I spent near the beach with a cool breeze touching my soul and inspiring me to soak up the view.

The time was ecstatic and can be very well seen in the beauty of the view. Drawing natural sceneries from a remote corner are always a challenge. It makes me give out my best. The view had been captured from my hotel room. The flowing sea water and the changing color of the shore sand with its movement were enthralling. Capturing this magnificent view in my painting is a treasured souvenir of the astounding time that I spent at the beach.

The time was romantic. The sun was about to set and everything around was still clearly visible. Walking down the seaside shoreline has always given me immense joy and pleasure, but my choice of capturing this magical and spectacular view in my painting so that I can cherish the vista forever was truly the right decision. The painting depicts happiness and serenity. It is different from those beachside paintings that show the wild nature of the sea waves and fluttering trees. Despite the wind is blowing at a great speed, the sea is not violent. All natures’ elements were playing their roles amazingly and making the atmosphere pleasant.

The remote view of this painting is my presentation of how a beautiful sea would look from a distance. The high trees surrounding the beach are hiding most of the sea from my hotel room, but reveal enough of a peek to invite one to see things happening at the shore. The clouds were gliding speedily because of the gusty wind. The scene got darker and more exotic as the sun started to set. The setting sun added a whole to new life to the scene. The color of the environment changed altogether. Any person would have loved to see such perfect scenic beauty and admire it. Both the day view and the view at time of setting sun were thrilling.

The evenings building chilly breeze made me realize I chose the perfect time to begin my painting as any delay in it wouldn’t have allowed me to capture it as perfectly as I did when the air was soft and gentle and the natural light glowing magnificently. There is something special about this painting because it made me come closer to nature and know my potential even better.

Japanese Manga is not famous only In Japan but is read widely in other parts of the world, too, including America. Sometimes it pays to know what the difference is in Japanese Manga and American Comics that prompt universal readers to read it again, after once. American comics are more adhered to real life scenes and stories which Manga takes its readers to entirely different world. The other obvious differences can be noted in cost, creation, presentation, size and accordingly in readership.

The notable difference between American comics and Japanese Manga is their colour schemes. While American Comics come in vivid colours from the real world, Japanese Manga is generally drawn in combination of black and white only. They also vary considerably in terms of their sizes, too. Manga is often much smaller in size then American comics. They are half or even 1/3rd of the size of American size, i.e. digest-size. American comic books are thin and last in approx 32 pages or so, while Manga comics may be as thick as 100s of pages.

Japanese Manga may be considered as similar to American graphic novels, made of collection of monthly issues of comics with ongoing stories. The difference is that Manga comes in single and large story and the story may take as long as thousands of pages.

American comics are not one man job and often involve many people in its creation. They involve writer to churn out a story, a drawing artist to draw a sketch, an inker to ink the raw drawing, a letterer to write dialogues and a colouring artist to fill in colours. Japanese Manga pieces are generally created by one artist only who take cares of all these aspects, may exclude colouring though.

Another notable difference is that Manga stories are not narrated in as much detail as American comics are. They move much faster, with lesser dialogs and fewer panels than that in American comics. The efforts that a Manga takes in makes it costlier than general comics books, even more than a full size novel. Its smaller size and black-n-white texture though helps to keep its cost down.

Another interesting difference between Japanese Manga and American comics is that they are not meant only for children like the latter. Manga is read and enjoyed equally by every age of people. They come in 3 different categories viz. Shonen Manga for boys, Shojo Manga for girls’ and Hentai for adults.

Shonen, the Manga for boys comes with exciting action and adventure mix stories. Shojo, the Manga for girls come with romantic stories about relationships and love. Unlike these, Hentai Manga is only for adults and not for children. There are no specific reasons why anyone can not ready any Manga except for adulthood reasons. You can even find Manga online, there are many websites that are providing full length Manga comics online for free to download and reading.

Aquapack flowers

Buying flowers both in a high street shop and flowers online can offer a massive range of choices for those wanting to purchase floral and bouquet related gifts. From long stemmed blooms to themed funeral arrangements, flowers are available in a variety of finishes and packaging.

One of the many options available though is the aquapack selection of flowers. The aquapack flowers selection is a bouquet of flowers with the ends of the stems fully contained within a small pouch which is full of water. These pouches are designed to keep the flowers contained within, fresh and crisp.

With their own small supply of water, these flowers can be kept at their best for longer periods of time without them wilting or drying out. When transporting flowers from one venue to another, these aquapacks can help keep the flowers at optimum levels until they reach their destination, this can be especially useful if the transportation distances are relatively long.

Another useful advantage of the aquapack flowers is that for a short period of time at least, a vase can be an unnecessary item. The pouches created to hold these flowers are very securely fastened and can contain the water without any spillages or leaks. This means that for a temporary display, the flowers can be kept as they are without a container. When set on a flat surface, the aquapack forms a secure base so that there are no wobbles or shaking and the flowers can remain in one position.

Once in a more permanent home, the flowers can be removed from the packaging and arranged in a vase. At eflorist we can supply a range of aquapack hand-tied flowers. These bouquets are available in a range of blooms and colours and can be used for instant displays and exhibitions.
